Bath and the Surrounding Area
As a World Heritage Site, Bath has some of the most famous architectural masterpieces in Europe such as the Roman Baths & Pump Room, Royal Crescent, Bath Abbey and Pulteney Bridge. The city is certainly one of the most beautiful in Europe and has something to offer every visitor.
There is so much to discover, ranging from world class museums to theatres, festivals, parks, restaurants and quality shopping. Walking & open top bus tours, river & canal trips and balloon flights are all available.
Bath is also a perfect base to explore the surrounding countryside of North East Somerset and the Cotswolds. Among the many favourite destinations are Wells and Salisbury, Stonehenge, the delightful Cotswold villages of Burford and Castle Combe. In addition to the cosmopolitan and cultural city of Bristol, which is within easy reach when staying at Astor House.
Sporting events are in abundance wether this is horse racing, Rugby, Cricket or a round of golf. Open air concerts and balloon festivals liven up the summer months as does the hugely popular 'Bath International Music Festival'. Bath becomes a cosy and festive city in winter with favourite events like the Christmas Market and the carol concert in Bath Abbey getting everyone in to the Christmas spirit. |
